Un gigantesco meteorito se estrellará contra la Tierra en setenta y dos horas. La desesperación, el caos y la muerte recorren el planeta. Los habitantes del perdido pueblo de la Laguna escuchan aterrorizados la noticia. Ale, un joven frustrado que vive con su madre y hace chapuzas a domicilio, decide pasar sus últimos días encerrado, emborrachándose y oyendo su música favorita. Sus planes cambiarán de golpe cuando se ve obligado a ayudar a su madre, Rosa, y a los cuatro hijos de su hermano Tomás ante la llegada de Lucio, un desconocido, ambiguo y desconcertante personaje cargado de misteriosas intenciones. SYNOPSIS What would you do if the world was going to end in 72 hours? A giant meteorite is about to collide with Earth. The planet is gripped by despair and chaos. The inhabitants of the little town of Laguna listen to the news in terror. Ale, a frustrated young man who lives with his mother and works at doing odd jobs, decides to spend his last days shut away, getting drunk and listening to his favorite music. But his plans change when he is forced to help his mother, Rosa, to protect his brother Tomás four children when Lucio, an ambiguous, disturbing stranger appears. Licenciado en Derecho, durante la carrera lleva a cabo sus primeros cortometrajes, todos ellos de género fantástico. En 2001 funda su propia productora. Ha realizado varios cortometrajes y ha ganado más de sesenta premios nacionales e internacionales, entre ellos los de Mejor Cortometraje en los Festivales de Sitges, Luxemburgo y Cartagena de Indias. En 2002, ganó el Premio Universal Studios al Mejor Director. Su último cortometraje, “Brasil”, fue pre-seleccionado para los Oscar 2004 y nominado al Meliès de Oro 2003 al Mejor Cortometraje Europeo. 3 días es su primer largometraje. DIRECTOR´S BIO & FILMOGRAPHY Born in Córdoba in 1973, F. JAVIER GUTIÉRREZ studied Law during which time he began making his first short fantasy films. In 2001 he founded his own production company and continued to make shorts receiving more than 60 national and international prizes, of which the Best Short Film award at Sitges Film Festival, Luxembourg and Cartagena Film Festival. In 2002, he won the Universal Studios Best Director award. His last short film multi-award-winning “Brazil” earned a pre-selection for the Oscar in 2004 and a Golden Meliès nomination for the Best European Short Film in 2003. “Before the Fall” (3 días) is his first feature-length.
